Silverweed benefits of skin

Potentilla anserina is native to the Orkney Isles of Scotland. The flowers of silverweed open only on sunny days. All parts of the silverweed plant are edible and have been used as a medicinal herb due to its astringent properties and active compounds. Silverweed, when brewed as a tea, has been widely used to treat everything from skin discolouration, to sunburn to removing blemishes. Research has shown Silver Shine to have excellent anti-oxidation results and anti-inflammation effects due to quercetin, caffeic acid, p-coumaric acid, luteolin, kaempferol, chlorogenic acid, rosmarinic acid and catechin. The leaves are also suggested to make a good skin cleansing lotion and soothing balm for inflamed skin.
